Jaycelyn Jane Keisel

Well, we had our little girl. It was quite the experience. Thursday night we had Kylee’s birthday party. I wanted to get it over and done with before we had this baby. I was having contractions all day. They weren’t real close, maybe 2 hours or so apart. Well, they started getting closer and closer. Dr. Berry had said that if they come within every half hour then I needed to go to the hospital. Well, I didn’t want to. I was really nervous and not sure what to do because I was not off the blood thinners. We had cake and opened presents and then Jared and I left while everyone was still there. It was nice to have family around to help take care of Kylee and lock our house!!

When we got to the hospital, the nurse checked me and then called Dr. Berry. Dr. Berry was unavailable so they talked to the doctor on call for him. Dr. Savage said to monitor me for an hour and if I was progressing to keep me there and we would decide what to do once that was done. The nurse did check me again after an hour and I had progressed. She also had gotten a hold of Dr. Berry. He wanted me to stay at the hospital and see if they could hold off having this baby until 6:30 a.m. on Friday. He wanted me off the blood thinners as close to 24 hours as we could get. I was a little nervous. I had some pain medication, but at about midnight, the contractions were very strong. The anesthesiologist came in and gave me an epidural. At that time I was dilated to a 2. The nurse came in every ½ hour to move me around and check on me. At 2:00, she came in and had me put on an oxygen mask because the baby's heart rate was dropping and checked me again and I was at a 5 ½. I think I was moving faster than they wanted me too.

Dr. Berry was called in and we started getting ready to get this baby here. At 3:03, Jaycelyn was born and she was so cute. By Monday, when I left the hospital, I was ready to leave. I just wanted to get home and take care of my family. I started to feel a little anxious about how I would take care of Kylee and Jaycelyn. I need to just rely on the Lord. I can’t be everything to everyone and can only do my best. Watch out for them and take care of them.

Getting closer

We are having Kylee’s birthday party tonight. What am I doing? :) I wanted to do this before we had this baby so that I had one thing done and not have to worry about it. It is going to be a costume party. Jared is going to be a doctor and I will be either a pregnant patient of his or a baby that he has just delivered. I am really excited. It is just going to be an easy party. Cake and rootbeer, then open presents and that is it. Last year I did a dinner and it was fun, but I don’t have the energy or flexibility to do that this year. Kylee is going to be a dragon. It is the cutest little costume.
I finished the nursery and Kylee’s room. They are really cute. I feel like I have things done around that house and am ready for this baby, but emotionally, I am not. Yesterday I had my last doctor’s appointment. I am getting really nervous. I am not so nervous about having another baby, I am very nervous for the surgery. Even though I have been through it before, it is still nerve racking. There are so many things that could go wrong, but there are a lot of things that could go right. At least we know when we have to be there that I can have a blessing before hand and not feel rushed like we did when Kylee was born. I think that I have been having contractions. I don’t want them so I think I am denying them. I just do not want this baby to come before Monday. I want to be off the blood thinners and make sure that we can make this as easy as possible. We shall see what happens.
