My Little Girl!

I know that I have lots of posts today. It is quite hard to get to the computer with three girls always needing SOMETHING!


Here are some pictures of Kylee putting on her makeup! My grandma gave this makeup to her for her birthday and she just LOVES to put her makeup on. Whenever we leave and she has been watching me put my makeup on, she says that she needs to put her makeup on too. That one, we might want to wait on, going in public with her makeup on! As you can see, she goes for the MORE IS BETTER look!

My Eater

Jaycelyn has turned into my real eater! The other day she ate non-stop all day. I feel like that is all I do with her. I LOVE that she is such a good eater. For awhile there, she was so skinny. Had these little skinny arms, but she is filling out! Here are some funny pictures. Kylee helps me out and feeds Jayce sometimes when I am just too busy!! :)

The Basement!

Jared has been working so hard on our basement and I am so very excited!!! :) Here are some pictures of his handiwork! Tomorrow, the heating men are coming to put the vents in. Jared has put together how the electrical needs to be set up and is going to talk to a friend of his to come help him make sure the design is good and then hopefully we will get that going too! We had decided that we were just going to do the family room and the craft room/excercise room, but Jared is having the heating and electrical done in the 2 bedrooms we plan on having down there too. He is also going to sheetrock the bedrooms, so yesterday we talked about just finishing them. I mean, the bedrooms just need to be painted and carpeted! So, there you have it. Lovely basement (or as Jared calls it, his "Man Cave")

Milestone!

Okay, so this post is not so pretty, but I have to share how great Kylee has been lately! She is just growing up (even though she is just 3, I have noticed a big change in her). Kylee has done wonderfully with the potty training bit. Number 1 we have down for about a month now and we struggled with the other one! CAN I JUST SAY ICK!!! For the last few days, she does it all by herself! She just hollers at me, "HEY!" And then I go help her! Can I tell you all how wonderful this is since having a third little one around. WONDERFUL!!

Jared's New Scar

Thursday nights, Jared plays in a Payson city league basketball team. Last Thursday, he came home with a big cut on his face and blood running down his jersey. He said he needed to go get stitches. I couldn't believe it! I asked him if he got in a fight and he said nothing. He was acting pretty strange, just real quiet like. As he was leaving he told me that he hoped the police didn't show up. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! I didn't know what to think!! I went to start getting the girls ready for bed and he walked back to the bedroom and said he was just kidding, he just got elbowed at the game. I could have died!!


Anyway, he went to the InstaCare in Springville. He just missed them. They closed at 8:00. He then headed up to the InstaCare in Orem. The stitched him up and home he came. I have been meaning to get pictures. His eye kind of went black and blue on Sunday, but not to bad. It is mostly cleared up now and he should be getting to the doctor today or tomorrow to get the stitches taken out.

Jayce and I stayed home from church today. It was Kylee's first time to Sunbeams and I think that both Jared and I were a little nervous about how she would do. She has done well the last 2 or so months in nursery. Jared would stay with her for the first little bit and then leave. She would put up a little fuss, but eventually she would be fine. Jared said that she went right in to Sharing Time and sat next to Matthew and was fine! Jared tried to get her to come out and go to the bathroom, but she said she wanted to stay in class! Kind of crazy that she is in Sunbeams!

Here is a picture of what Jayce and I did!! I was working on finishing our announcements to send out and Jayce was playing under the highchair. She loves to sit on top of the heat vents and feel the air as it comes out. She looked tired and for a minute I thought she was alseep sitting up. She wasn't. She did lay down and the next thing I knew she was alseep! Kind of cute!! :)

Jaycelyn Jane Keisel

Today, Jayce and I both had checkups with the doctor. Me for my incision and Jacers for her well care visit!! She is 30 3/4 inches long and weighs a whopping 19.4 pounds. Just for a comparison, Kylee was this 30 3/4 inches long and 19.8 pounds at 18 months!! Jayce is in the 60th percentile for height, 6th percentile for weight and 90TH PERCENTILE FOR BRAIN SIZE! Both my girls have big brains!! :) They get that from Jared!

My Princesses

Here are some pictures of my princesses! Kylee got some princess skirts for her birthday when she turned 1. They have been the greatest gift! All the cousins and friends that come over love to dress up in them. Jayce has just taken to them. She loves to dress up in them whenever Kylee puts on her dresses. They love for me to turn on the "running" song. "See me run, running around in circles, running and running." I am starting to get sick of the song, but the girls just love it and love to dance. It is fun to see the girls play so well together!

EMILY ANN KEISEL

We had our baby!!!! It was quite the experience. The first time that it actually went through as planned! I am not sure how I like that yet. When you go into labor, you have the contractions to distract you while you are getting the epidural. I was having contraction, but they were sometimes an hour apart, so I got to focus on the epidural! NOT A GOOD THING!!! Then, when I went in for the C-Section, I got to worry more about what was actually happening. The doctors cutting me open to get a baby out. It was exciting, but yet very scary! Anyway, to make a short story shorter! We had a little baby girl! I am going to be sending out announcements this week to you all, but in the meantime here are some super dee dooper cute pictures that Jared took.

Getting all Pampered Out

Yesterday, my mom, my sister, and I went and got a pedicure! Oh, it was so lovely!!! I have cute toes now to go to the hospital. I have been pretty good about taking care of them, but the last few weeks I have a VERY hard time getting my feet up on my knees to even put socks on!! There is this great little Academy in American Fork that you can get all these fun things for a little less expensive because it is a school. We have been numerous times. I think this spring, I want to go in for the European Facial. That is so wonderful. They massage on your neck and upper chest area. It is so very relaxing. If any of you need a wonderful relaxing day, check it out!

Wednesday, I went and got my hair done! I LOVE IT!!! I actually get up every day and do it!!! I go through faces where I don't want to do it anymore, but right now, I just love it!!!

What else should I do before this baby comes? Oh yea, REST!!! Anyway, we have only a few more days until this baby comes!! I am starting to get very excited. We don't know what we are having and I am anxious to see what we are having. A boy or a girl!!!

Girls' New Room

Since last Monday, the girls have been sleeping in the same room. It is really fun. Jared and I went and got the trundle from my parents house a couple of Mondays ago and then we bought the mattress. It has been a little bit challenging trying to get Jayce to stay in her bed, but she is doing better. I think it is really kind of cute to go and check on them at night and there they are, in the same room.

Potty Training

I think we have it!!! Kylee has had a few accidents here and there, but has been wearing panties for about a week now! OH YEA!!! This is one of the many things I wanted to have accomplished before this baby came!! WHOO HOO!!! It is so nice. And the really super nice part is that she mostly goes by herself. If she hasn't gone for about an hour or so, I make her sit on the toilet and she will most of the time go. Sometimes I will find her in there by herself going to the bathroom! I LOVE IT!!!! It was the hardest thing ever. A real test of my patience and long suffering, but I think we have it!!! Thanks to all who kind of pushed us and made us get this going!!!

New Hairdo!

I found the hairdo I want!!! This is a picture I took of Debbie Worthen from Channel 2 news. I hope you all can see it. I watch this station in the morning and just love her hair. I don't have a way with words, so I will have to take this picture to Stacy the next time I head in for a haircut!!! My haircut right now I think is real similar. I think that I want it longer in the front like Debbie's. So, what do you all think? Yea or Nay!!

SNOWED IN!

I was going to go in to work today with Christine and finally finish what we have been working on. I got down the street and decided that Jared was probably right. I better not venture out. When I left it was just raining, but it has turned in to some sort of a snow storm. We are staying home today, going to have some hot chocolate and marshmallows, tomato soup and cheese sandwiches, and then some gingerbread later today! Doesn't that sound yummy!!! I hope that none of you out there have to travel. If you do, be super careful!!!

We have had a few things already this to be celebrating. This is a big one.

We got our treadmill!

Jared picked it up from Sears yesterday and is hoping to put it together tonight! We have only been waiting for a month and a half for this!!! I can't even count how many times they have told us that it had been delayed!!!

HIP HIP HOORAY!

Kylee has been wearing panties since yesterday morning!!! :) We had a tiny little accident last night, but other than that, she is doing pretty darn good! I am so happy!!! I know that we will have some accidents and mishaps before this is completely under control, BUT she is there!!! I am just really wanting to have her so close before we have this other baby so that I am not changing THREE diapers!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

2008

Here it is! A New Year. Jared, the girls, and I went to see the lights in Spanish Fork last night. We hadn't been this year at all, so I thought it was a great day! And it sure was!! There were not very many cars at all. We went around twice. Then we came home and had our Sparkling Martinelli's and called it a night!! I am not a night person and New Year's Eve is my most unliked holiday!!! 12:00 just seems forever away when you stay and wait for it!! :) Besides, with little girls that like to get up early, it just isn't for me!!

Food Storage

Last year, one of my New Year's Resolutions was to get working on our food storage. A long time ago, my grandma's ward did some handouts and it told you what to do each month for food storage so you don't have a ton to do in one week or whatever. I am going to keep working on that. I have added that list. It will be on the side of my blog and if you want to do this with me, GREAT!!! I think it is so important that we all get working on this and get prepared. How long have we been told that we need to get ourselves in order?

Book of Mormon Reading

Yesterday in church our bishop challenged our ward to finish reading the Book of Mormon. Either to start and finish or if we are in the middle, to keep reading and finish the Book of Mormon. I found a really cool website where you can put in the day you want to start and the day you want to finish and they will make a chart for you of how much you need to read that day. If any of you want to use this, it is great. I am always really great about starting, but never finish. I am one who needs to have a little chart where I color in the spaces as I go along.

New Years Eve

Happy New Years Eve!

Can you believe it is the end of another year? It seems to go slow sometimes, but then BAM the end of the year is here!! Jared and I last year made New Year's Resolutions. Last year was the first year that I took those New Year's Resolutions and typed them up. I then put them in a frame. The frame sat in our kitchen where we would look at them from time to time. I have always tried to make New Year's Resolutions but by February, I had forgotten them. So, this is my challenge to all of you reading this!!! Write them down, frame them, and look at them throughout this next year!!! Good luck!!

Old Reunion

Today I got to get together with some of my old friends! We try and at least do some sort of a Christmas get together. Here are some fun pictures. It is so fun to remember the good old times and to catch up on what everyone is doing these days. We got together at Tiffani's house. Her husband Mike subs out to build houses and THEY ARE HUGE! Her house is very big and very nice. They move every couple of years though. We just got together and had some lunch and visited. Lori, Lance, and her two girls (Kelsey and McKenna) came down from Bountiful, Emily is home for the holidays from Pittsburgh, although she says that she may be moving back to Utah in a few months, and Kristy is here in Orem. I don't get to see these girls as much as I would like too!! We had some fun times when we were all single and living right next to each other.

Concussion

Kylee fell pretty good last night. She was sitting on our bar stools and was pushing with her feet against the counter. Well, I bet you all can guess that she pushed too hard! Back she went. We watched her all night and kept getting her up every hour to make sure she was okay. She is fine this morning and coloring away. Scary thing! The girl has had so many little accidents. I hope that if we have a boy, he won't be any more clutsy than her. But I guess she takes after it naturally! I am probably the biggest clutz ever!!! My high school days left permanent scars on my body!!

Merry Christmas!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We had a great one and are so glad that we got to see all of our family. Thank you everyone for a wonderful holiday!! It was a long day and the girls had had it when we got home, but they sure are having a blast this morning playing with toys and what not!

Paul Cardall Concert

Saturday night, Jared's parents took all of his brothers and spouses to dinner and then to a Paul Cardall concert. Wow! It was wonderful. I have always loved the piano and so mad that I quit. I can say that now right! He was asked to put music to the book The Christmas Box. What a wonderful night. Tyler and Christine were with our kids for about 6 hours. It was so wonderful to get out and experience that. I have really liked being pregnant this time of year instead of having a newborn. I can go to parties and can get babysitters to watch my kids while I do lots of Christmas shopping! Thanks to all who have helped us this season!!

Christmas Candy

When we got home from Gardner Village, Jayce was completely exhausted so I put her down at my mom's house and we made some candy. We haven't made Scissor Candy in a very long time and I forgot how much I like the stuff. Next year, that is what the neighbors are getting I believe. Here is the recipe in case any of you want to try. It is really pretty easy stuff to do.

Scissor Candy

2 C sugar
2/3 C Karo syrup
1 C water
flavorings and colorings

Butter a cookie sheet. Put some powdered sugar into a mason jar or a plastic bowl with a lid. Using a wooden spoon, stir over high until boiling. Reduce heat, cover and boil 3 minutes. Remove lid and cook candy until 285'. Remove from heat and add 1 dram of flavoring and 12 drops of coloring. Pour on buttered pan and cool until edges pull back. Cut with scissors (or with a pizza cutter) into pieces. Place in powdered sugar and shake every now and then. Strain off excess powdered sugar and its ready to eat. Here are the flavors and colors we like

anise - purple
peppermint-yellow
wintergreen - blue
cinnamon - red
spearmint - green

Here is a recipe for Honey Taffy. I remember making Scissor Candy and Honey Taffy at my grandma's house in Christmases past! Such great memories!

Honey Taffy

2 1/3 c. sugar
2 1/3 c. honey
1 1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla

If you plan for a taffy pull for an evening, cook it much earlier - if too early it can be warmed up. Combine sugar, honey, water and salt. Cook rapidly to 280 degrees (medium crack). Stir in vanilla and pour into a buttered pan to cool enough to be handled. Then pull until light. Pull the last few pulls higher, draw out into a rope about 1/2 inch in diameter. While still pliable, quickly cut into 1/2 inch lengths. (Use kitchen shears with blades rubbed with softened butter). Wrap each piece in heavy waxed paper. Makes 2-2 1/2 pound. Note: Do not stir candy while cooking.

Gardner Village

Yesterday, my sister, sister-in-law, her mom, my mom, the girls, and I made a trek to Gardner Village. It was sooo very yummy and fun. We had lunch at Archibald's and then headed out to shop. It was a bit chilly so we all went to the car while Christine and her mom did a bit of shopping. It was so nice. Here are some pictures of Andi crammed in the back between Kaja and Kylee.

Jaycelyn Walking

Jayce has been getting close to walking. Last night she was walking back and forth between the couches. She usually has had to hold on to my hand or have another person to walk to. She wouldn't just walk to walk. But last night she started doing it herself. So, maybe she is going to be walking in the next little bit. Here is a video of her walking. The getting to the standing up position in the middle of the floor she has been doing for about a month or so. Silly girl, just walk!!!

Yesterday, Andi had offered for me to come over and she would help me get my girls pj's done. She had read my blog a couple of days ago where I said I hadn't even started. I did the same pattern that she did for Kaja and she said it took her a good 5 days. OH BOY! Was I in trouble. I had to do 2!!! Anyway, I went over there at 8:30 and left around 4:00. I just have to put the ruffle at the bottom of Kylee's pants and I am done! I can do that pretty easy in the next couple of days! My poor house and laundry has been neglected the last few days because of the other pressing matters! I better start the straightening before the holidays come! Thank you for saving my life Anders!!!

Here is a picture of my girls in their chairs. They are constantly fighting over the pink one. As soon as Kylee gets out, Jayce heads for the chair and then Kylee fusses!!! It is kind of funny!
Here is a picture of what Jared has been doing the last couple of nights. I am really glad that the girls sleep through the air compressor and the saw!! I am really excited to get our basement done! We had a plan on how to do it, but Jared came up with a different plan and it works so much better!! When it is all done, we will have two more bedrooms, a bathroom, I get a craft room/exercise room, and then Jared's "domain" (as he calls it!)

Done, Done, Done!!

I FINISHED CHRISTMAS SHOPPING YESTERDAY!!! Whewweee! It sure feels good. Well, sort of feels good. I think I overdid myself. I was in a lot of pain today. Got the pregnancy wobble going on!! :) This morning, I am feeling better so that is good. At least now, I can just relax and mostly rest until Christmas!!!

Christmas Shopping

Yesterday I asked my sister if she could watch my girls while I did some shopping! Can I tell you how wonderful that was and how much I got done. It was so great and I am so grateful to Andi for watching the kids! I hope they didn't wear her out too much. They have a way of doing that! I have a little bit more to do and then I really need to be done so that I can start on the girls pajamas. I have been putting it off way too long and I really need to get those done!!

I am also done with neighbor's gifts. I love some of the creative ideas people do for us. Our neighbors gave us some muffin mix with some whisks with a tag that says, "Whisking you a Merry Christmas and a "Jiffy" New Year." Clever huh!!! I have a list of some cute sayings. Ring Around the Rosy

NuSkin Party

Last night (again) I got to go out!!! I have been so lucky can I tell you. Jared's work party was last night. They hold it at the McKay Events Center in Orem. Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband performed. I remember following them around with one of my roommates was dating one of the members. Anyway, they are fun to watch perform. Then they gave away prizes. HUGE prizes! And then we went home. It was after 10 when I got home. Oh, so nice to get out. I love it, but I also love coming back to my kiddies!!! :)

A Christmas Carol

Last night I got to go to see A Christmas Carol at the Hale Center Theater. It was so much fun!! My parents had two extra tickets and I invited a neighbor friend of mine to go with me. I have been very blessed these last few months to be able to go out quite a bit. Jared is great to let me do that!!! We have all seen, heard, or read A Christmas Carol. It was a great reminder that at this time, there is really no reason to be a grump! We get to be surrounded by our lovely families and share in the spirit of love and giving. I am just grateful for my family and friends that I care so much about!

Gifts

I have this book that everyday there is some short thought to help us on the "Simple Abundance" path. I really like this book. It makes me think about things that I do and how I want a peaceful life and some ideas on how to achieve that in this real world. Todays thought is about the Gifts of the wise men. At this time it is easy to forget what this season is all about with the gift buying and parties and everything else that is going on. People talk about Christmas being to commercialized. Reading todays thought really hit me and is kind of interesting.

Christmas won't be Christmas without any presents. JO MARCH (LOUISA MAY ALCOTT)

Jo's right. Remember when she grumbled about not having any money for presents in Little Women? Christmas is about gifts. Always has been. But we feel uncomfortable with this emphasis on gimme, gimme, gimme. Buy, buy, buy. Charge,
charge, charge. We admonish our children to remember the reason for the season, even though we have difficulty remembering it ourselves when we're caught up in the chaos and commotion of the holidays.

Today let's ruminate on the Real role of gifts in the Christmas story. Those gifts were wrapped in miracles, which is probably why we can't find them at malls or in mail-order catalogs. The first gift was of Spirit: unconditional Love. The next gift came from a Jewish teenager named Miriam, who was known to her family and friends as Mary. Her Christmas present was selflessness, the complete surrender of ego and will needed to bring Heaven down to earth. The gifts of her fiancé, Joseph, were trust and faith. He trusted that Mary wasn't pregnant with another man's child; he believed there really was a Divine Plan to get them through this mess. The Child brought forgiveness. Wholeness. Second chances. The angels' gifts were tidings of comfort, joy, and peace, the reassurance that there was nothing to fear, so rejoice. The shepherd boy's gift was generosity: his favorite lamb for the baby's birthday present. The innkeeper's wife's gifts were compassion and charity: a warm, dry, safe place for the homeless family to stay, her best coverlet to wrap the new mother and little one, a meal for Joseph, the donkey's fresh hay.

Three kings from the east traveled many hot, dusty miles following a bright star in search of a royal birth. The sages' divination foretold the coming of the "King of Kings"; on their camels' backs were treasures with which to honor his arrival. But when they arrived in Bethlehem, they found the newborn prince in a cow stall instead of a palace. The shocked Wise Men unwrapped gold, frankincense, and myrrh, but their Real gifts were wonder, acceptance, and courage. They offered wonder by surrendering logic, reason, and common sense. Accepting the impossible, they suspended skepticism long enough to double-cross the insane King Herod, frantically searching for the child who would change the world. With courage at the risk of their own lives-the Wise Men helped the young family escape to a safe haven in Egypt.

Oh, yes. Christmas is all about gifts. Nothing but gifts. But such gifts! Gifts tied with heartstrings. Gifts that surprise and delight. Gifts that transform the mundane into the miraculous. Gifts that nurture the souls of both the giver and the given. Perfect gifts. Authentic gifts. The gifts of Spirit, a frightened teenage girl, her bewildered sweetheart, the Child, the angels, the shepherd boy, the inn-keeper's wife. The gifts of the Magi.Unconditional Love. Selflessness. Trust. Faith. Forgiveness. Wholeness. Second Chances. Comfort. Joy. Peace. Reassurance. Rejoicing. Generosity. Compassion. Charity. Wonder. Acceptance. Courage.

To give such gifts. To truly open our hearts to receive such gifts gratefully. Christmas just won't be Christmas without any presents.

STILL NO TREADMILL!!!

Jared and I bought a treadmill, well, paid for it, the Friday after Thanksgiving. Jared got up at the butt crack of dawn to go to Sears. They told us it would be in on Wednesday. He called Wednesday and Thursday. Finally, on Friday, they told us that our order was never processed and that they could put the order through again and we would get it the NEXT Friday. JOKE!!! The manager did all he could. Called all the store in Utah and called their warehouse in LA. No luck. So, today was that next Friday. GUESS WHAT!!! NO TREADMILL!!! Sears oversold the treadmill and they don't think they will have any in before Christmas.

They did tell us that if we found a similar treadmill, they might be able to give us that one at the price we bought this other one. Jared told the salesperson the other 3 treadmills he was contemplating. Last I heard, Jared had not heard back from Sears to see if they would let us use one of the other treadmills. I just hope we get one!!!

Out AGAIN!!!!

Last night I got to go out again. A friend and I have been wanting to get out for a long time and finally last night we went. We went to the Pizza Factory. YUMMY!!! I got the Poppy Seed Ranch Salad. I love that salad. Then we also got a dessert. If any of you go, you HAVE to get the Never on Sundae! We got that and shared. So very yummy! I got home and just talked Jared's ear off about how great it was. I wanted to get out, but wasn't to hot on seeing a movie because the whole reason to get out was to visit and you just don't do that during a movie!!! Megan and I talked each other's ears off!!! It was so nice.

ELF DANCING!

Caroling

Last night I had achievement days. We had planned that we would go caroling around the neighborhood with the girls. The girls were meeting at our house at 6:00. Around 5:30, I started thinking, "I hate caroling!!!" "Why are we doing this?" I was the one that suggested it when we had a planning meeting awhile ago. Anyway, we went out and it was so fun. I think the girls had a really great time!! The people that heard us carol also enjoyed it!

Music

Jared was telling his family this weekend that he doesn't enjoy the Christmas music on our blog as much as I do!! No, he does!! Before I put the Christmas music on, he would got to our blog at work and listen to the music throughout the day. So for him!! I have put our regular music on at the bottom in case any of you want to hear other music. Silly I know, but it makes him happy!!

Snow Fun!

We woke up to some snow this morning!!! Kylee, again, could hardly wait to get out. She wanted to go out and shovel the walks with Jared at 6:30. I made her stay inside and eat some breakfast first and then she and Jared went out. Here is a picture and video. I went out to see how they were doing and Jared was running around in circles with Kylee in her sled. Check it out.
